Available September 2019: Tater Town Blood by Jamie Lee Cherrie
In the 1960s, the Burlington
Northern train tracks divide the prosperous from the poor in Bryant, Illinois. Against a current of
social class prejudice, widowed garbageman Joe Franklin struggles to raise his
son, Michael, on the poor side of town.
Sheriff Harlen
Nordstrom and his friends meet every morning at their favorite local diner,
Andy’s Place, to check the pulse of their town, while their wives spread the
latest gossip during bridge club gatherings. The friendship between the town
pillars is tested years later when a murder is committed. Torn between his loyalty to friends and
his responsibility to uphold the law, Sheriff Nordstrom makes a life-altering
decision that will haunt him for the rest of his career.
Decades later, the sheriff is blackmailed by the only
witness to the crime: Michael Franklin, the boy who was raised in Tater Town
and whose childhood was scarred by injustice. In a race against time, Michael realizes there
are deadly consequences to his vengeful plans and no limits to a son’s devotion
to his father.
